Description

My part of an art trade with Nidking. Although I'm poor with anime, I hope you like it :) So sorry I messed up the eye colour! I'd have fixed it if I could >: And the awkward pose - he was meant to be shrugging in a cute-ish way .>_<

VISION
This is rather basic as far as vision is concerned...until one looks deeper into it. I'm not certain if this was your intention, but taking all of Len's pose into consideration makes him look cocky. It gives me the impression that you were after a cute jerkass feel to him, and you achieved that fine if you did. The little cheeky smile and raised eyebrows go well. He's the stereotypical naughty teen by the looks of things. That is good, considering I'm a little bored of the "Too good for this sinful earth" Len that I see most often.

ORIGINALITY

Okay, this is going to be harsh, I know full well, but Len isn't an original character, of course. He rightfully belongs to Crypton, so to rate this perfect would be....oh, heck with it, It'd be insane. Not your character, not capable of reaching full score. BUT. It is very rare for me to come across a cheeky Len (Again, so many...including myself, portray Len as so right and pure it's unbelievable.) So for that I award what I consider a fair three stars. Correct me if any believe me to be wrong, but I do believe It is the right score.

TECHNIQUE

Holy hell.....
This was your FIRST attempt at anime!? You do not even want to see my...er...abomination. For a first try, this is insane. I don't think I've ever seen someone do so well first time. However, it's not fantastic (and I think I'd be just a mite jealous if it was.) as far as anime is concerned. So, bear with me:

Know now that the person giving you advice is PATHETIC at anime. Jus' saying. You know that anyway, so meh.

Arms: Becks, arms do not move that way. He looks like his arms will turn into shoulder-mounted railcannons. When shrugging, the entire shoulder pivots up and the bones in the shoulder produce the detail. Do not be disheartened, THIS IS BLOODY HARD. Take it from someone who still doesn't have the courage to bother with that pose. Length seems good for the arms, both seem anatomically correct. Width seems accurate for a male. Though I still debate whether Len is a girl in a boy body....moving on.

Neck: Right length, too thick though. Len should have a smaller neck in accordance with his age.

Head: Correct size by my imaginings. Face is very accurate in terms of positions, but the Headphones seem a little off. Might be the angle.

Eyes: Wrong colour. (Len's eyes are baby blue to ocean blue depending on the person.) I expect that's a tad nit-picky though. Never, EVER put the eyes near the edge of the face. Ever. Anime artists will always tell you that the angle of the face will not change the position of the eyes, only the way you draw them. Again, difficult as I admit to buggering that part up myself. Frequently. One eye lacks reflective light....undead Len!

Costume: Accurate to a T, barring one teeny thing. He has a Tie, not a ribbon. (God I really feel bloody evil saying that, it's such a silly thing to be critical about.) But yeah. Rin has a ribbon....a very big one. Costume itself looks very silky and free-moving, which I like. I fear I'm still doing unmoving clothes.....
Crease lines seem accurate and precisely added.

Four stars. For a first try, you've blown me away. Again.

IMPACT

First, this is Len. You automatically win the internet, the internet's pet internet, and the internet's whole family. He's cute, cheeky and he made me smile with his mischievous grin. You have done very well in capturing a side of Lenny I really like to see. It's a first for him to be happy and exciteable, not mentioning free from Rin and her persecuting mischief.

I'm really happy when I see traditional work. All this digital stuff is okay....but sometimes the good ol' pen and pencil really do work wonders when everything else has failed you. The colouring is bright and pretty, and it works wondours with Lenny and the personality you've set up for him in the image. Soo....wow. Just wow.

Best. Gift. Ever. Minus a cute animal. That would be purrfection.

dohohoh.
